Bill Bryson's book: "In a Sunburned Country"

Book Recommendation for anyone wanting to learn more about Australia

I've read Bill Bryson's wonderful book about Australia several times. It's called "In a Sunburned Country", and I highly recommend it. It was reading this book that convinced me that I HAD to go there.  According to Bryson, Australia has the friendliest inhabitants, the hottest, driest weather, and the most peculiar and lethal wildlife to be found on the planet.

One reviewer describes the book thus: "Despite the fact that Australia harbors more things that can kill you in extremely nasty ways than anywhere else, including sharks, crocodiles, snakes, even riptides and deserts, Bill Bryson adores the place, and he takes his readers on a rollicking ride far beyond that beaten tourist path."
